What is the purpose of your establishment?

Primarily to gain the “knowledge of God -Sufism /Tasawwuf”, while teaching the Qur’an, and Hadhiz [the recorded sayings of the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم], sacred law, memorization of Qur’an and other Islamic subjects. We also teach the Islamic calculation, literature, grammar, poetry, history and adhere to the shafi school of Sunni jurisprudence.

How do I enroll my son to your madrasa?

Annually during the month of November we publish an advertisement on newspapers, our website and Facebook page for new admission. Selected candidates will be called for an interview in the following month of December.

What is your weekly/monthly programs conducted for the benefit of the general public?

Weekly we conduct the Qadhiriyyah Ratheeb and the annual feast [ Kanduri] of Ash Sheikh Abdul Qadhiri Jeelani قدس الله سره العزيز and commemorate the events of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم), the founder His Holiness As Seyyid Sheikh Koya Thangal and other Awliya Allah whom deemed relevant.

Can I know the age limit and minimum qualification for joining?

If you are joining for Kithab: the applicant should have passed grade 9, and completed reciting the holy Quran. If you are joining Hifl: the applicant should have passed grade 6, and completed reciting the holy Quran. Please note that the applicants who are joining for any of the above course will have to face an interview. In the meantime the applicant also has to submit us with a recommendation letter, from a Moulavi (conditions apply). Or a letter from an old boy of our college will be sufficient.

Please tell us what facilities you provide for your students?

We provide our students with food and board facilities. Our students can take maximum utilization of our library.

How many batches are already graduated?

From the year 2003 till date with the grace of Allah (swt), 16 batches have graduated successfully.

How many students are currently studying?

We have around 150 students studying in our college.

How often are parents allowed to visit the madrasa to meet their children?

Parents are allowed to visit once a week. (Visiting hours is Thursday after asar till Friday asar.) Please note that parents are not permitted to stay overnight.

Apart from following the Arabic subjects, do you provide students the facility to sit for the local examination conducted by the government of Sri Lanka?

We teach our students the national languages which are Sinhala, Tamil and English and prepare them for the State General Certificate of Education Exam Ordinary level and also advanced level for those who wish to attend higher education.

Can I join your college to do a part time course?

At this point of time we have courses that you can follow on fulltime basis only.

What is the duration of your courses?

Are outsiders allowed to stay overnight in your college premises?

No

Who are your lecturers?

Our professors and teachers possess years of experience in the field of Islamic studies and they dedicate themselves to provide with quality education focusing on several practical innovations and their implementations ensuring quality preparation of all students to life and work. Specialty of our lecturers is all of them are our past students (old boys) and we assure their potentials and capabilities.

Do you have branches in any other place in Sri Lanka?

No, our institute is located only in Hill Street, Dehiwala.

Are you affiliated with any other institutions in Sri Lanka or overseas?

We operate independently, and we have no connection with any other institutions or groups. Our curriculum established by the founder are taught and fully protected from interference.

Are outsiders allowed to pray the 5 daily prayers at your premises?

No outsiders are allowed to pray at our madrasa.
This excludes Management and past pupils.
